I bring over 30 years of industry experience to the position of Business Manager - Used Equipment. I spent 14 years at Titan Plant Services, most recently in the position of Area Manager.

Bachelor of Commerce (Accountancy) from Canterbury University. I have over 12 years experience within the Cat Business Unit having come from a Chartered Accounting background and more recently as Financial Controller of a local retail organisation.

My family, soccer in the winter and road cycling in the summer. I only watch sports on TV.

I am responsible for Goughs parts and service marketing activities, and manage our major customer accounts from a product support perspective.

I have been in the industry for over 30 years, starting as a parts cadet and working through to parts management, then onto a career in machinery sales. I spent 7 years selling Cat machinery into the forest industries around Rotorua and followed that up with a further 8 years selling into the metro area of Auckland. This experience and the ability to communicate with people at all levels took me back to management within the Cat business unit and the position I hold today.

Like most Kiwis, rugby has played its role in my life and for many years I was a member of the Manurewa Rugby Club. I have been known to get into the kitchen on the weekends and play weekend chef. I find this is a great form of relaxation along with a good glass of red wine, but my main interests have centred around work and most of all my wife and family.

My position involves managing the Mining group to ensure our customers have the most relevant information to enable them to produce the lowest cost/tonne for their particular industry. Information required in the decision managing process is gathered from equipment selection, specifications, operating costs and application. It is important that our customers understand the real benefits associated with the Caterpillar/ Dealership network and how it can add value to their business. Part of my role is also dedicated to oversee Goughs first Maintenance & Repair Contract at the Macraes Gold Project for Oceana Gold.

I joined Goughs in 2003 from Thiess Contracting in Peru where I was a mining maintenance superintendent at a gold mine for Thiess. Prior to that I worked for 5 years at Westrac, the Cat dealer in Western Australia, overseeing mining MARC contracts.

My role is to ensure that Goughs is a preferred supplier to the heavy construction, quarry and mining industries by delivering products and services of superior value. We first try to understand the needs of customers in these industries and then work out how to best apply the significant resources that Goughs and Caterpillar have to offer. My role is to act as a coordinator and facilitator for all this activity.

I have worked for Goughs for over 25 years, starting as an apprentice diesel mechanic at Palmerston North in 1973. and receiving my Advanced Heavy Trade Certificate (diesel) in 1978. I became a Product Support Rep in 1992 and began selling machines in 1996. I am a previous winner of the Australisian Caterpillar Masters Sales Award. I commenced this role in 2003.

I've been with Goughs for more than 15 years, in roles relating to machine sales and parts & service. I spent 3 years in Fiji as General Manager of Carptrac, the Fiji Caterpillar dealer, before returning to Goughs in my present role.
